Mae’r Llwybr Cenedlaethol yn pasio drwy bron 60 o gaerau Oes Yr Haearn.Y rhai mwyaf amlwg yw, Greenala, ger Stangwbwll a Phorth y Rhaw ger Solfach. Fan yma, mae’r twmpathau’n hongian uwchben y cerddwyr, yn rhoi syniad i ni pa mor fawr oedd caerau yma pan gawson nhw eu hadeiladu.
Mewn rhannau eraill o’r llwybr mae olion archeolegol amlycach, Er engraifft, yn St Brides a West Angle mae erydiad arfordirol yn dangos mannau claddu yn dyddio nôl i oes y Cristnogion cynnar, rhwng 400 i 1000 AD. Yn Nhrefdraeth mae’r llwybr yn pasio drwy olion cloddwaith a enwir yn “ The Old Castle.” Credir bod hwn tua 200 mlynedd yn hyn na Chastell o’r Oesoedd Canol Trefdraeth, ond ychydig o’r cerddwyr sy’n aros i gymryd unrhyw sylw ohono heddiw.
